HSA Biology - Winter Break Homework

Have a wonderful, safe, and enjoyable winter break!  The homework this break is to complete the Winter Break Biology packet.  This packet is worth 100 homework points. It is due the first day we return from break (Tuesday, January 3rd for B Day and Wednesday, January 4th, for A Day).  No late work will be accepted, and no homework passes will be accepted for this assignment.

The assignment will be graded on completion and effort. In order to get full credit, you need to read through the assignment, answer the BCR questions to the best of your ability, and answer all multiple choice questions, including your reasoning as to why you chose your answer.  You will not receive full credit without writing your reasoning for each multiple choice question.

AP Biology - Genetics and Winter Break Homework - December 21

The homework for winter break includes:

1) Packet of multiple choice questions.  In order to receive credit, you need to have both your answer circled, and your reasoning/justification written below the answer. This will be graded work, based on the amount you answer correct. Feel free to use your notes and/or book.

2) Free response Question #3 only - spend about 22 minutes on this question.  Your response must be TYPED in order to receive credit. You can either e-mail it to me or hand it in after break.

3) Virtual lab - mitosis/meiosis. Use the virtual lab sheet that you got in class to go through the online lab.  Answer the questions online, but make sure to fill out the sheet, which you will hand in to me as proof that you completed the lab.

Announcements:

New late work policy: All late homework will only be accepted (for a highest grade of 80%) for the first three classes after the work is due. After that, no late work will be accepted.

New make-up work timeline: All make-up work must be turned in by three class periods after the absence.  After that, make-up work will no longer be accepted.  All make-up work is placed in each student's folder in the classroom and all work is posted on this blog.

The HSA Benchmark Test is October 20th (A Day) and 24th (B Day).  The test will cover all of Unit 1 and Unit 2 and will count as an assessment grade for this class!

Sha’Diamond and Desiree have put in the effort it takes to succeed in this class by coming after school to get caught up on the work and get extra help. Sha’Diamond made HUGE improvement over the course of unit 1.  Desiree scored above our mastery goals on all three assessments and consistently turns in her homework assignments!
